An Article:

An article  is a word  that is used with a noun to indicate the type of reference being made by the noun.
An article is usually considered to be a type of adjective.

There are two types of the Articles

1-      The Definite Article                     2- The indefinite article

Its uses"the" is the definite article. Its used are explained blew.
The is used to point out or refer to a noun.

  • “The” is placed before an adjective in the third degree. It is not placed before a third-degree adverb when it is used alone. But “the” is placed before an adverb followed by a connected word.
Example:

She is the ablest teacher in our college.

  • “The” cannot be used when an adjective in the superlative degree is preceded by a possessive pronoun.
