and is more precious than life. Some Muslims learn parts of the
Quran by heart. It is preserved both through memory and
wri ting. It was written from the very beginning because Allah
has given its protection. It will always be preserved. It is the last
and final book sent by Allah. It tells us how to behave in our
homes, and how to treat our parents, brothers and sisters,
relatives, fr iends, neighbours and strangers.
A true Muslim always tries to recite it daily. Prophet
Muhammad (P. B. U. H) said"A person who doesn't learn any surah
of it by heart is like a ruined house."A person who is not able to
understand the Quran but he can read it, he will get sawab.
The verses, which were revealed to Prophet Muhammad
(P. B. U. H), were recorded. There were also many Sahaba who had
memorized parts of surahs, but some of them died during battles.
During his Khilafat, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (R. A)
gathered all these verses and formed the Holy Quran. Later,
during the Khilafat of Hazrat Usman (R. A), people were reciting
the Quran in different dialects. The people from Iraq were
reciting in the Kufi script while the people in Egypt and Syria
were reciting in another dialect. Therefore, Hazrat Usman (R. A)
Produced copies of the Quran in the Quraishi dialect and sent
them to those countries along with a Qaari (a reciter). And even
today, all Muslims whether they live in Egypt, India or
Afghanistan, they all recite the Quran in the same dialect, the
Quraishi dialect. This service of Hazrat Usman (R. A) has
helped preserving the Quran in the way it was revealed.
The Quran teaches elders to love children. It also teaches
children to respect elders. The Quran has every thing, we need
to know. All Muslims should recite one part everyday.
